On Friday 5th September 2003 Bassment Crew & Vinyl Pimps presented "NICE TIME CHARITY BASHMENT" at Oud Dommelhof, Neerpelt, Belgium. Involved in the reggae part of the event were Belgium's foremost reggae ambassador Crucial P, Danny Pepperseed's Ovadoze Movement featuring roots singer Taffari from Jamaica and Black Kappa. Crucial P warmed up the audience with a nice selection of vintage and new tunes, before Taffari and Ovadoze Movement Sound System took the stage. After having opened with the wonderful brand new tune "Step On Board", Taffari performed some of his singles and tracks from his forthcoming album including "Addicted To Music", "Rough & Tough", "One Love (Flesh & Blood)" and "Rise Up". He showed that he's a fine roots singer with a good voice, also able to perform lovers and dancehall tunes.
Halfway his performance Taffari called on stage Black Kappa, a German based Jamaican dancehall deejay. He first gained wider recognition through a combination he did with Seeed on their single "Dickes B" (also featured on Seeed's debut cd "New Dubby Conquerors") and has released a solo effort on single entitled "Party On". Black Kappa did this "Party On" tune and some other pieces as well as combinations with Taffari including pieces across the "Liquid" and the all conquering "Diwali" riddim. After an encore Crucial P took over again to entertain the audience with another wicked selection of 45s.
