all race and creed, with the spiritual fire to burn in, burn out, burn up and
burn down the walls of Babylon.

Singer/Songwriter Everton Clarke a.k.a. Messenjah Selah was born on
January 25, 1974. Raised on the Island of Jamaica, Selah grew up in a
Christian household where the lifestyle was practiced and preached. At the
age of fifteen he moved to the Virgin Island of St. Croix. He was drawn
to the guitar, and learned to play through practice and determination. In a
short time he was playing in the Church band, and was also blessed with the
fortune to play for the St. Croix American Regional Mass Choir for two years.
Selah, along with a few friends from his church, was inpired to start a
Gospel Reggae Group, Genesis, that performed throughout the Island.
After graduating from St. Croix Central High School, in 1993, he
moved to Atlanta, Georgia. The first two years in Atlanta, Selah
concentrated on academics and skills. In 1995, he began writing, recording
and performing Reggae music on a professional level as a solo artist.
Selah’s abilities as an artist initiated bookings at some of Atlanta’s most
popular venues. As a result, three singles were released on an independent
label, Stereo Records.
Airplay of Selah’s music on some of Atlanta’s most listened to
Reggae stations has earned him popularity, and has enabled one of his
singles, ‘Know Who You A Praise’, to make it in the top ten charts for
several weeks. Selah was merited an award for best
new male vocalist of the year in 1999 and best male vocalist of 2001 at
Atlanta’s Caribbean Music Awards. His notoriety has broadended through
radio interviews, both locally and internationally, and reviews in Atlanta’s
Caribbean Express and Linx Entertainment Magazines. His popularity
continues to increase, opening for some of the biggest names in Reggae music.
Artists like Luciano, Sizzla, Mikey General, Buju, Kymani Marley, Beenie
Man, Capleton, Bounty Killa, Sister Carol, Beres Hammond, Leroy Gibbons,
Brigadier Jerry, Tony Rebel, and Mutabaruka, to name a few.
Recently, Selah has had the opportunity to work with some of
Reggae’s top producers, such as Jack Scorpio of Black Scorpio
Productions, Syl Gordon of CellBlock 321 Productions on two singles, one in
collaboration with Luciano, and one with Sizzla, which was released in
summer of 2002.
Selah continues to work on various projects including his first two
albums. His debut album, “Whosoever Will” will be released in the first
quarter of 2003 under an Independent label, NDISI Productions, Inc.
Still moving the hearts, touching souls and liberating the minds of all who
listen to his message and mastery of vocal delivery, it is no doubt that
Selah will quickly capture the attention, imaginations and hearts of the
