  • Major Lloyd - Chant And Plant / Version
Overall rating : (1 to 5 stars)
Errol Lloyd Gordon a.k.a. Major Lloyd initially started his musical career deejaying as well as singing, but from the point people began to say he sounded good and encouraged him to sing instead of deejaying because they liked his voice he concentrated on his development as a singer. Throughout the late eighties and the nineties he worked hard and recorded some songs which, for whatever reason, failed to make a serious impression. But it was Major Lloyd's teaming up with producer and manager Steven Ibanez some three years ago that enabled him to work on new riddims and songs which finally helped this artist regarding his further development. "Chant and Plant" is a fine proof of Major Lloyd's talent and skills to deliver a great roots tune. In this case, the riddim track also helps to lift the song to a high level. This record and his earlier released 7" singles makes one longing for a Major Lloyd album!
