Overall rating : (1 to 5 stars)
The fresh "Addiction" riddim - laid by the Taxi Gang & Paul Crossdale (member of the Firehouse Crew) - is a full sounding, mid-tempo roots riddim incorporating superb horn lines. So far seven entertaining pieces for the riddim, all produced by Syl Gordon & G. Bailey for 321 Strong Production and featuring such fine roots singers like reggae veteran Yami Bolo, Mikey General, Paul Elliott and the up-and-coming Taffari alongside the sweet-voiced Pam Hall, vocal group A.R.P. and Garnett's brother Aaron Silk. Besides fine modern roots tunes like Mikey General's "Conquer All My Foes", the awesome "Harsh Reality" by Yami Bolo, Taffari's solid vocal and lyrical delivery "Rough & Tough" and Aaron Silk's decent tune entitled "Mary", one is also treated to the lovers side of reggae music with the Pam Hall and A.R.P. cuts being real nice efforts. No real weak tune, impeccable vocal deliveries, great riddim and good production work make this set of singles well worth checking out.
