Overall rating : (1 to 5 stars)
Here's the next quality riddim from French duo Bost & Bim, released on their "Special Delivery Music" imprint. The "Dis Ya Time" riddim - following up "Clean Vibes" and "Storm Alarm" - is a decent remake of the Itals' signature tune "Ina Dis Ya Time", already done over in the early eighties for Yellowman's "Operation Radication". Bost & Bim have created a very enjoyable one drop riddim with a nice organ melody and saxophone flowing through it. Expertly mixed by Barry O'Hare - regular mixing engineer for Burning Spear as well as producer and owner of the "X-Rated" and "World-A-Muzik" record labels - the riddim features solid cuts from Alpheus, Queen Omega and Sizzla, while Lukie D, Natty King and the combination Lyricson, Natty King & Singing Melody deliver the deadly goods. Further cuts for the riddim are "Stay Strong" by Jahmali & Turbulence, Mark Wonder's "Jah Never Fed I" and Steady Ranks' "Instrument Of War". Check it out if you're looking for well produced modern roots reggae and conscious lyrics!
