Overall rating : (1 to 5 stars)
Rock Star Entertainment's monstrous dark hardcore gangsta themed dancehall production 'Gangsta Gangsta' put the Hoosong brothers (from New Jersey, USA) a.k.a. Supa Shane and Elly Ess, who also produced Rock Star's 'Onward'-riddim, firmly on the map as producers. Elly-Ess not only produced the 'Gangsta Gangsta'-riddim together with his brother but he also voiced the impressive "Nuh Inna Dat" over it and the single "Bad Boys" riding the riddim of and sampling snatches from Inner Circle's 1987 tune. A re-release of "Bad Boys" with Vybz Kartel, Jim Jones, Derrick Barnett and Marvin Priest about to be released.

And now Elly Ess follows his very nice catchy "Shoo Fly (Don't Bother Me)" with its undeniable hip hop cross-over vibe with "I'm So Wavy (Raw)", another tune that emphasizes the non-standard approach to dancehall by Supa Shane and Elly Ess. This time the vibe is heavy electro-dance with a rock-twist with an extremely strong female hookline resulting once more in an Elly Ess infectious tune that deserves to be heard, also for its instrumental "I'm So Wavy (Instro)" and the Radio Edit. Another tune from Elly Ess and producer Supa Shane that truly makes me want to hear a full RockStar Entertainment 7" selection or one riddim album of it.
