Overall rating : (1 to 5 stars)
Singjay Silverado - born Delroy Roberts, April 10th 1962, in the parish of St. Thomas, Jamaica - started out singing at church and entertaining relatives and friends. He migrated to Canada in 1979 where he started spreading his distinct brand of culture in the dances and stage shows of Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, New York and London, just to name a few. This 12" single features Silverado's first two singles, the Trevor Phillip produced "Entertainment" and the self-produced "The Gentile" plus their versions. The up-tempo dancehall piece "Entertainment" is a nice rendition of Triston Palmer's classic hit tune from the early eighties. However, the best tune can be found on the flipside. With "The Gentile" Silverado delivers another dancehall tune, although with a more "roots & culture" vibe. All in all both tunes are enjoyable efforts which makes that this 12" single can be regarded as a decent release.
