Jeneile Osborne aka Queen Omega was the first artist who put Trinidad & Tobago firmly on the reggae map when she released her breakthrough single "Warning" - featuring Capleton and Sizzla - and her self-titled debut album at the beginning of the new millennium. Later on artists Trini reggae singers like Khari Kill, Jamelody and Marlon Asher also gained international popularity, the latter with his huge hit "Ganja Farmer". These four artists paved the way for other up and coming talents such as Matthew Greenidge, King David, Tennille Amor, Kwesi Fontinelle, Ras Lett and Jah Defender.

With her single "Love Language", produced and released by JahLight Records, female reggae singer Excellent (born Stacey Lewis in Mc Bean village, Couva, Trinidad) makes fully clear that she also belongs to this much promising group of Trinidadian artists. Although "Love Language" isn't the first song that she has written since she - after a Luciano concert at Isa's Lounge in Couva in 2011 - was inspired to write and perform Reggae songs as she realized this was a more soothing, spiritually and emotionally deeper type of music, it is her first recording since and her second in general. Backed by a wonderful riddim, Excellent's very powerful and soulful voice fully shines throughout. It's truly a joy to listen to her song, which also lyrically makes a good impression. And there's even more to enjoy as there's also a very well done dubbed out version included here.
