  • U Brown - Fire Burn / Version
Overall rating : (1 to 5 stars)
U Brown started his career - being a thirteen year old boy - in 1969. As many of his contemporaries he was inspired by the originator U Roy. In 1975 he did his first album with producer Bunny "Striker" Lee and continued to record with him over the next couple of years. Later on, U Brown started producing his own material as well as other artists for his own "Hit Sound International" label. In 1986 he moved to the U.S.A. to chill out, but in the nineties he returned to Jamaica where he started recording again. At the end of the nineties re-issued material as well as brandnew albums brought U Brown again to the attention of the reggae massive. Although only a tune of two minutes and twenty-five seconds, "Fire Burn" is an above par roots piece from this vet in the business. U Brown performs in his well known style and fully shows that he still knows how to ride a riddim. Very enjoyable!
