Artist & tune

  • Beres Hammond - Holiday / Instrumental / Come Down Father
Overall rating : (1 to 5 stars)
"Holiday" and "Come Down Father" are notable self-produced "reality" tunes from Beres Hammond for his own "Harmony House" productions. When it comes to his own production works one is always treated to great Lovers Rock and rub-a-dub riddims, for which he always utilizes a real drum and bass section. Add Beres Hammond's trademarks, namely a rusty voice and poetic lyrics, and it's obvious why Hugh Beresford Hammond definitely belongs to a very small group of artists that never disappoint. Although the title suggests that "Holiday" is just a feel-good reggae song, it's a serious "anti-war & crime" tune all the way. Indeed a very entertaining piece from Beres, which also goes for "Come Down Father", another fine reality tune that deals with the state this world is in.
