Overall rating : (1 to 5 stars)
New York based Easy Star Records emerged on the reggae scene in 1997 with the release of some notable 7" singles from unknown, but truly gifted local artists like Rob Symeonn, Ruff Scott, Father Sweets and Ossie Dellimore. In the following years Easy Star mainly concentrated on their album releases, which proved very successful and made a serious impact on reggae connoisseurs worldwide due to the high quality standard of these products. Just before the end of the year 2000 Easy Star Records return to the singles game with five pieces over their own, "Far East"-inspired, "Thai Stick" riddim. Namebrand cultural artists like contemporary reggae stars Luciano and Anthony B, the well-respected reggae vets The Meditations and Triston Palma, and also the up-and-coming Rob Symeonn, have delivered satisfying as well as solid efforts across an appealing roots dancehall riddim which was laid by real musicians.
