Caribbean Pulse - Mr. Man
Caribbean Pulse & Tony Rebel - Dry Your Eyes (Da Remix)
Label : Irie Records Format : CD Single Date : 04-12-2002
Rating : (1 to 5 stars)
Excellent three track CD single from US based Caribbean Pulse featuring the awesome "Jah Is My Rock", delivered in combination with Jamaica's latest Grammy Award winner Damian "Junior Gong" Marley. The dynamic dancehall-flavored "Jah Is My Rock is a powerful cultural tune over an appealing resuscitated riddim track (Slim Smith's "Rougher Yet"), which once again underlines that Caribean Pusle is well able to deliver an ear-catching quality reggae tune with strong hit potential. Furthermore we're treated to two previously released tunes, "Mr. Man" and the wicked combination hit tune with Tony Rebel entitled "Dry You Eyes (Da Remix)", utilizing the riddim from Damian Marley's "Searching" (actually a revitalized version of Bob Marley's "So Much Trouble" riddim). The hit potential of the original version of "Dry You Eyes" was recognized internationally and made the song enter the reggae charts in several countries including Jamaica, something unheard of for non-Jamaican artists. With Mr. Man Caribbean Pulse had their next notable effort entering the reggae charts in Jamaica and abroad. Mr. Man is a serious message tune with a powerful vocal and lyrical delivery across an appealing uptempo backdrop, truly well worth hearing over and over again. All tunes are produced by the world-renowned Fabian Cooke, whose accolades include the multi-platinum hit, "Hakuna Matata" from Walt Disney’s "Lion King".
