London based Sirius Records isn't exactly high prolific, probably because this label - run by Kenny Edgehill and Nereus Joseph - prefers to deal with quality and not quantity. And quality music is what we get with these three 7" singles, actually the first productions from their new Recording Studio based in East London, UK. Three tunes over the fresh "Liberation" riddim with the excellent combination song "No Peace" by veteran DJ Dennis Alcapone and Nereus Joseph, being our favourite piece. The bringing together of these experienced artists works very well. Nereus Joseph, a mainstay of the U.K. roots music industry, fully displays his great voice, whilst Dennis shows that he's still able to deliver a notable DJ part. Afrikan Simba - well known as the "voice" of UK's Channel One sound system - has been on the scene since the late 1980's. The 2002 released singles "Strengthen The OAU" (also on Sirius Records) was a well received strong effort and its follow up, "Two Wrongs", is another winner. A tune with lyrics that keep you involved, the distinctive voice of Afrikan Simba and the well arranged riddim makes this tune worthwhile checking out. Originally from East London, Selah Collins spent most of his formative years singing with sound systems such as King Original and Unity before becoming lead singer in bands like Black Survivors and Lion's Den in between doing solo recordings for labels like Tex Johnson and Unity Records. In January 2002 Sirius Records released "Must Get Free", which was followed by "Empress". With "Worldwide Struggle" Selah once again shows that he's a fine conscious singer as he delivers a solid effort truly worth of hearing.
