Bulby, Fatta and Karl Toppin's estimable "Fat Eyes" label has released "Not impossible", the latest Beres Hammond single and a further evidence of the man's status as a reality singer par excellence. Beres Hammond's lyrics are always heartfelt and personal, he never resorts to glib couplets - his Xterminator single "Hold on" was a masterpiece of resignation and deliverance - likewise here he outlines his determination in life, ably assisted by Terror Fabulous, riding a wicked Fat Eyes variation of the currently in vogue early eighties dancehall riddims. Prezident Brown - strongly inspired by U Brown and Brigadier Jerry - has managed to become one of the most consistently interesting deejays to emerge in the nineties and can be reckoned to the school of culture-oriented deejays. Although he predominantly turns up on Barry O'Hare's "Xrated" label he sometimes links up with other producers on the Island. With "Mama" Prezident Brown delivers a nice effort on the "Fat Eyes" label, expressing his love for his mother and praising her for all the things she has done for him.
