The start of the new millennium marked a very fruitful period for Europe based reggae producers, riddim makers and record labels. It's mostly Germany and France, with to lesser extent the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and Austria that proved to be fertile ground for anyone being active in reggae business and now we can also add Denmark to this list as the Danish reggae label Burton Records presents their "Nice Vibes" riddim. Produced by Alec Burton & Shelter, this thoroughly solid roots reggae riddim was laid at Studio 8 in the heart of Copenhagen, Denmark, by reggae musicians from the Northern region of Europe including the well-respected riddim section of the backing band Roots Harmonics.

The full sounding "live" played riddim underpins the vocal and lyrical deliveries of Jamaican artists Zareb, Chezidek and Lutan Fyah along with Gambian Mystic MC (real name Mustapha A. Coker), a 32 year old reggae and dancehall music artist, writer, composer and executive producer for Sky Records in Copenhagen, Denmark. Zareb, formerly Mr. Flash, attracted notable attention with his 2007 released debut album "Authentic Love" for Germany's Pow Pow Productions. Here he delivers a real nice effort with his vocals sometimes hinting at Junior Reid's influence. Mystic MC makes a very good impression with the powerful sung "Yardding Up", but it's first Chezidek and then the almost always excellent Lutan Fyah who deliver the best cuts for the riddim. These two artists create a different vibe, but in terms of quality their efforts are equally strong.

Another great production team has entered the European reggae scene and that's very good news for the avid fan of well produced modern roots reggae.
