Artist / Title : Tena Stelin - Rotten Apples / Version
Label : Lush Records      Format : 7" single      Date : 19 - 04 - 2002
Rating : (1 to 5 stars)

Tena Stelin is one of the longest established and best known performers on UK's new wave roots scene. This reggae singer first came to public attention in 1989 with a string of releases for the "WAU/Mr. Modo" label. In the early nineties Tena Stelin carved a niche for himself with his distinctive voice and fiery, conscious lyrics. Throughout the nineties he has released several albums, mostly for Dougie Wardorp's "Conscious Sounds" label. Furthermore he has worked with the renown Firehouse Crew, Sound Iration and Steve Mosco aka Jah Warrior. The latter is also the producer of Tena Stelin's latest effort for Lush Records entitled "Rotten Apples". The latter is a very enjoyable tune, delivered by a vocalist who is in real good shape. This, in combination with Tena's appealing conscious lyrics and also the tough, deep roots underpinning makes this an effort that will surely appeal to any fan of quality UK roots. The dub version on the flipside shouldn't be overlooked either. This solid 7" single is exclusive and previously unreleased in any format.
