Rating : (1 to 5 stars)

Another "Reggae Goldmine" 12 inch release featuring classic reggae tunes. All tracks are produced by Henry "Junjo" Lawes for his own "Volcano" label and particularly the strong seller "Shine Eye Girl" was one of the early hits from then new youthman singing sensation called Barrington Levy. The tracks featured on this 12 inch single are taken from his ground-breaking 1979 debut album "Bounty Hunter". It were the combination of the unique vocal qualities of the 15-year-old Barrington Levy and the uncompromising raw riddims of the Roots Radics that grabbed notable attention and made people aware that a fundamental shift was taking place in Jamaican music. It was the dawn of the dancehall era! Here you can experience these days again with the extended version of the superb "Skylarking", actually a rendition of the Studio One classic written by Horace Andy, the excellent "Shine Eye Girl" and its awesome "Dub Version". Very enjoyable early reggae dancehall stuff!!
