Artist / Title :
Goofy - Somebody just poop / Brush yuh teeth / I don't give a damn
Label : Greensleeves Records Format : 12" Date : 09-02-1998
Rating : (1 to 5 stars)
In 1997 producer Danny Browne catapulted the careers of Goofy and especially teen sensation Red Rat, a new generation of young deejays to emerge into the dancehall scene. So, it's no wonder Danny Browne's Main Street label has become one of the driving forces in today's ragga/dancehall music. After smash hit "Fudgie" - a humurous tune with this bicycle horn that opens the song and comes up all through the song making it stick in your mind - Goofy is back again to mash up the place completely ! Goofy takes the names of his riddims literally "Filthy", "Rich" and "Rotten", for he's talking farts and bad breath and not giving a damn. Goofy puts out a solid performance all the way and brings you the things you might expect from the "Fudgie" man. His story-telling is reminiscent of artists like Professor Nuts and Lovindeer and it will be interesting to see how his career progresses as the afore-mentioned artists are popular in Jamaica but rarely make any noise elsewhere.
