To find a connection between Germany and Jamaica isn't too difficult as the choice of the label's name, "Germaican Records", fully expresses the link between the two countries. This up-and-coming German record label has unleashed its second series of singles, this time on the brandnew "Bitch" riddim. Produced by Pionear this infectious and well laid modern dancehall riddim is voiced by such well known Jamaican artists like Lexxus, Harry Toddler, Lady Saw and Hawkeye alongside newcomers Backyard Project and Tolga. Lexxus aka Mr. Lex is one of this year's most anticipated dancehall stars but, although a nice effort, "Strong Man" doesn't fully live up to expectations. Lady Saw makes a far better impression delivering "Lately" in her well known singjay style. Surprisingly decent piece comes from an unknown, but talented (German?) outfit called Backyard Project. Harry Toddler utilizes his "Nah Nah Nah" trademark once again and delivers a worth while effort. However it's Spectacular on the flipside who makes the strongest impression. Jack-A-Daimond holds the title track of the riddim, his vocal performance is good but he lacks lyrics to keep you involved. Hawkeye's "Buss It" is a very satisfying delivery and can be regarded as one of the best cuts over the riddim. The same goes for the combination tune "Hot Girls" performed by new singer from Germany, Tolga, and Jamaican dancehall veteran General Degree.
