Phase Selector Sound is comprised of Joshua Elrod and Craig Allen, who take cues from masters like King Tubby and Jah Shaka, but also from the "new" dub electronic movement. The duo began playing music together in 1989, although Craig's experiments with overdubbing began much earlier. In 1996 they started to work on tracks that would eventually end up on their first cd "Disassemble Dub" that was released on ROIR Records in 1999. The debut cd was followed by a track, "Skycup", on the compilation "Docking Sequence", released by BSI Records in 2000. And now we're treated their next effort, a double-A sided single produced for Lush Records. Phase Selector Sound's music is drum n bass dub strongly in the reggae direction rather than techno or trance. Their efforts on this 7" single are tasteful deliveries for fans of ambient trance, illbient, drum and bass, acid jungle, as well as dub freaks and reggae devotees. Not only do they have cool song titles, these contemporary dub outings also sound surprisingly original.
