Five pieces of truly fine positive and conscious reggae music - all sharing the same vintage riddim - are featured on these brand new 7" singles released by "I&I Foundation Records". With such artists involved as the outrageous 'Messenjah' Luciano, fine roots singer Mikey General and the powerful Bobo deejay Anthony B it is almost a guarantee that you are supplied with solid roots tunes. And indeed, neither of their songs will disappoint you, especially if you're one of those reggae fans who loves the traditional reggae style. Luciano is in good shape and his vocal performance fully lives up to expectations. Mikey General's delivery is a solid one and, just like Luciano's effort, very enjoyable. Furthermore reggae vet Tristan Palma, who is also the producer of these tunes, delivers a decent effort with "Get Up". The same goes for Buffalo Soldier whose "Why Can't We Be Friends" incorporates appealing conscious lyrics. Keith Blair a.k.a. Anthony B provides an outstanding deejay piece with his righteous chant for "Self Praise". Most of the mixes include some classical horns, so do not forget to check out the version as this one - with its nice dub effects and the full effect of the horns parts to enjoy - is definitely well worth spinning more than once.
