Here is a bunch of quality driven reggae 45's coming straight out of Jamaica, all across the brand new "Wild Fire" roots riddim recorded live in JA at Anchor, using the best new musicians, with always Kirk Bennett and Trevor McKenzie on drums and bass. All tunes were voiced at Syl Gordon's 321 Strong and mixed at Bobby Digital Studio. With artists including Ras Shiloh, Luciano, Turbulence, Chrisinti and Ginjah the riddim gets a deep roots and culture treatment which makes the tunes most definitely worthwhile checking out. Chrisinti is a cultural music messenger whose vocal delivery on Strength Of A Lion is most chilling and makes this song a solid top tune. Up-and-coming Ginjah puts out an inspired and powerful song as he brings Love & Unity, keeping things upbeat and developing a flow that carries you through the whole song. The one and only Messenjah, Luciano is present here with just the thing we may expect from this roots & culture singer who is keeping his pledge to return consciousness to the dancehall vibe. Know Your Roots maintains the high standards we know from Luciano's previous work with several producers. Ras Shiloh is a youthful singer whose work with Penthouse producer Donovan Germain managed to make a solid impression and his version of the riddim, Beautiful People is a high-quality delivery in every aspect: great vocal presentation, appealing conscious lyrics across this excellent roots riddim. Turbulence delivers one of his best records to date with Fire Bun. His unique style sounds really good, while utilizing the riddim relentless.
Don't ignore these tunes!
