Currently based in The Netherlands, Twilight Circus ringmaster Ryan Moore grew up in a volcanically active location in Canada and was immersed early on in Dub & Reggae. Moore first learned to play instruments by playing along with classic Jamaican recordings, spending countless hours as a youth playing deep reggae grooves. He has been active in the music world since 1981, appearing as a musician on over 60 albums with various artists in numerous genres. A Dub fanatic of the first degree since teenage days, his first studio experiments took place in the mid 80's and when he moved to The Netherlands in 1991, virtually unlimited access to recording studio equipment allowed his knob twisting tendencies to develop to the point of no return. In the studio multi-instrumentalist Moore plays and mixes all the tracks himself. Twilight Circus Dub Sound System has performed 100's of live dates around the world since 1995.
'Dub Plates Vol. 3' is the 9th full length album from TCDSS and the 3rd installment in the popular 'Dub Plate Selection' series which gathers together special dubplate versions previously only to be heard in clubs worldwide live on the TCDSS Sound System & in the hands of select DJS in the form of white label trax. These 11 heavy duty dubwise floorshakers were recorded at the revamped Twilight studios using various legendary analogue n' tube devices for a real PHAT sound that will surely turn you upside down. Ryan Moore continues where he left off, delivering innovative dub creations, mostly inna steppers style. His tunes are strictly original stuff, with nuff nuff effects, prefectly suited for the hard core dub fanatic. I guess that everyone will pick out his own favorite tunes, but these following tracks are my toppicks : Jah Steppa, which brings back the time of King Tubby's, followed by Session Plate, a stepper's anthem, with a thumping bassline. Mega Hall is a mega boom tune and the same goes for Dub Otaku. The slow paced Travellin' is a solid rocker's dub piece.
