What a scorcher of an album, this excellent Pressure Sounds re-release of Earth & Stone's 'Kool Roots' set which initially came out in 1978. This album collects most of the group's songs for Channel One Studio recorded between 1973 and 1978. And you really get it all: lovers, roots (with the balance tipped to the cultural side) and dub versions with great vocals from Albert Bailey and Clifton Howell (whatever happened to these great singers ??) and excellent rhythm tracks played by the Revolutionaires. We agree with Steve Barker who does this statement in his liner notes "....The 'Kool Roots' set is one of the great reggae vocal group albums standing alongside the Mighty Diamonds fabulous 'Right Time'..."
