"Heartical Area" is a 18 track free downloadable cd from Spanish guitarist and singer Bratt, who at the beginning of his musical career played blues, funk, and rock before he started to generate reggae music more than 10 years ago. He was a member of a lot of bands and supported different artists, but when it comes to reggae music he established himself with the bringing out of Cañaman, Mad Sensi, and Chalice Sound System. "Heartical Area", subtitled "Inna Chalice Connection", is the result of his playing on albums from Cañaman and Mad Sensi, collaborations with a variety of artists including Ras Kuko, Morodo, Sylla, Mista T, Astrid Jones and Yolanda Eyama, aa well as doing a lot of shows.

This album, done in a 'mixtape stylee' in association with the Chalice Sound System, features a variety of styles ranging from modern 'one-drop' roots to hip-hop vibed dancehall. It´s obvious that most of the songs are full of consciousness, even though not every song is performed in English and our Spanish isn't that good to understand the lyrics. Some of the riddims featured on this album are well known from Jamaican releases like e.g. "Taxi", "Drum Song" and "Hot Milk aka Murderer", while others are fresh originals. We particularly enjoyed tracks such as "La Nación Busca Perfección", "No Discrimination In This Country", "African Sunshine", "Live Up", "Now Way Out", and "Mystic Gal".

All in all a nice album and besides that a praiseworthy initiative to make it available as free download so reggae fans from outside Spain are also able to give it a spin. Here's the download link : www.hhdirecto.net.
