Kruud (pronounced Crude) consists of Peter Seale and Anthony Weathers. The two started out in the '70s being members of a melodica band in high school. After graduation Peter joined the True Persuaders and just before things really started rolling, the band split up. Years later Peter and Anthony met in New York and they took up recording, releasing four songs in 1991 under the group name 'Fyah'. After several years they got together to release this album.
The album is a collection of reggae orientated songs, heavily influenced by the late seventies/early eighties reggae style. The combination of the (fragile) vocal delivery, which is reminiscent of Gregory Isaacs in his early days, and the sparse backing brings up an interesting kind of laid back, dubwise kind of reggae music. The album as a whole manages to create a relaxed exclusive atmosphere, which will please a lot of reggae/dub fans all over the world.
