With a delay of about six months Panache Culture's fourth album titled "Le Discours" has finally hit the streets. The cd, which aims at the French market as all songs - except for "Together Brothers" - are performed in French, is released by Black Coffee/Team 4 Action in association with their long-time label RUNN Records. Panache Culture surprises its fans and those who are going to check the group for the first time with a variety of styles including roots reggae, ska, dancehall and latin flavored reggae. The production quality is crisp and clear and the well structured songs are a treat for the ear. Besides guest performances by Sergent Garcia, Najah and Prezident Brown we're also treated to two solo cuts by the group's backing vocalists Mounia and Nachaydi, the latter delivering a nice tune across the "Tempo" riddim. This set contains brand new tunes, but also includes remixes and do-overs of some previously released tunes like for e.g. "Le Discours", "Together Brothers" and "Fais pas de macho". Standout tracks are "L'âme d'homme", the awesome "Policeman" the dancehall flavored "Laissez-vous aller" and "Fonce pas la tête baissée comme ça". Also particular interesting and worth of hearing is a version of the Jacques Brel song "Les coeurs tendres".
All tracks were mixed by Barry O'Hare at the renowned Tuff Gong Studio in Kingston, Jamaica.
