The Nu-Afrika Project is defined as Jazzy-Hip-Hop-Roots Rock Reggae with a funkky edge. Nu-Afrika is a gathering of the New Young Lions from the Jazz, Hip Hop and Reggae community with One Love, One Aim, One Destiny, to bring musical expression to another level of understanding. The project is a solo effort to preserve the art form of Free Afrikhan Musical Expression/Life Music in dedication to our ancestors who nurture us daily.
Listening to his album we were more or less astonished by the mature sound and vibe of the album. Lyrically the album is firmly rooted into the roots and culture tradition with lyrics that make a lot of sense, don't forget to listen to his poem If Lyrics Was A Bomb. As mentioned above the music here is not narrowed to strictly one drop reggae riddims. The variety of styles offered is thoughtful and makes the concept-album a vivid and enjoyable piece of art and craftsmanship. It would be unfair to point out highlights as we cannot find weaker or less creative moments here, although favorite tunes are My Sound, Psalm 117 and the meaningful song Dollar Bill. The artist Num has managed to create a fascinating piece of music. We think you should listen carefully to the album mix below and you'll be surprised...trust us!
