Ambelique is actually Owen Silvera, who once was known as Ramon the Mexican, when he used to introduce many of Harriott's western parodies with the Crystals. He started his career in the early 70's under the guidance of the aforementioned Derrick Harriott. In the nineties he re-surfaced with some excellent singles and an album on the VP imprint. He is blessed with one of the sweetest voices in the business and this album contains some of the best pieces he has ever recorded. Check out tunes like I'm A Believer, Heartless and Loves Got A Hold and you will experience what I mean ! The album opens with a spoken intro in which he pays tribute to some of his mentors and great names in the business. He's known for reworking pop and soul standards such as 'Lonely Soldier' and 'Quando Quando'.

Here you will find appropriate covers of Travelling Man, Mr. Lonely and the Stylistics Stone In Love. The song Our Prayer is a wicked remixed version of My Prayer (Psalms 23) on which he gets accompanied by deejay Tappa Zukie and Chevelle Franklyn. The same Chevelle Franklyn duets with him on Share My Love. Further noteworthy tunes are Top Of The Line, Woo We Baby and Sing It Loud. The album was produced by 'Blackbeard' Sinclair, with support from top musicians such as Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespear, Lloyd Parks, Winston 'BoPeep' Bowen, Dean Frazer, Lloyd Willis, Willie Lindo, David Madden, Robbie Lyn, Dwight Pickney, Winston Wright, Franklyn Waugh, Scully and Herbie Harris!

An excellent album from one of the best voiced singers in the business.
