Based on the ringtone of the same name, the L.O.C. trio (Lenky, Orthodox and Chris) last year created what has to be one of the most extraordinary dancehall tracks around, the "Ring Ding Ding (Main Mix)" over Rohan 'Snowcone' Fuller's 'Applause'-riddim. When one of their spars came up with a brand new set of dancehall moves, not only did L.O.C. christen the dance the 'Crazy Frog' - they also came up with their track "Ring Ding Ding" to go with it, that made it as a dubplate to the 2K5 UK Cup Clash. Depending on your mood this almost one year old track is very funny or extremely annoying, luckily my mood has been lately upbeat enough to enjoy this tune. There's also a "Ring Ding Ding (Grime Mix)", with it's dark Grime-sound, like a faster version of Southern hip-hop, rapped with British accents, driven by the slanted slang of the London streets and minimal, bone-rattling, bass-heavy beats typically generated on a computer. Rohan 'Snowcone' Fuller's "Applause Riddim" is included in its clean version as well, credited to his Wasp Nest Crew. For all who missed this former number 1 on the 1Xtra Dancehall Chart last year, it's still available, and it can be big fun to listen to.
