Pinchers' breakthrough came with the King Jammy's produced "Agony"
in 1987. This track inna digital style made him a celebrity in Jamaica
and he recorded some albums for King Jammy, Exterminator and
did a fine "clash' album with Frankie Paul. In the early '90s he scored again
with "Bandolero", using Gregory Isaacs' "Storm" riddim.
Now he teams up with Gussie Clarke for the "Season to Season" album.
Recorded at the Music Works Recording Studios. the album consists of
13 tracks, mostly inna lovers style. Some tracks are strongly R&B influenced
,notably "Season to Season" and "Welcome". As usually Gussie's production is
near to perfect, but Pinchers' vocal delivery isn't consistent throughout the
whole album. It's not an album you will turn to again and again, but it certainly
has it strong moments.
