Following the big German chartbusters "Superior" and "Intoxication" this is the third single from Gentleman's extremely successful "Confidence", an album that peaked the German Album Charts upon its release and stayed in those charts for 51 weeks, and contributed to Gentleman taking several highly notified mainstream music awards, Echo, Comet and the much desired Eins Live Krone as best national artist for the second time last month after last year's win. The opening track of the album, the live favorite "Send A Prayer" is released just in time for the holiday season, as Gentleman's religious reggae/soul ballad...

To jah jah i say
Hear the words of his son lifting up his voice today
I know and i pray
Never will i go astray

Me send a prayer for my mama today(mama)
On my knees to the father i pray(send me this prayer)
Guidance protection every day ay ay ay ay ay

is a real standout compared to other ballads released to top the Christmas pop charts. The (disappointingly only one) other track on this CD-single is his current Jamaican single "Perpetual Emotion", one of two singles (the other cabaret star AJ Brown's "Could You Love Me") released last week by Richie Stephens' Pot Of Gold label. Another very fine ballad, praising the power of love. Two great tunes, but still, it's only two tracks, and I'd rather have payed twice the 3 euros this single costs for two extra non-album tracks, though the inclusion of "Perpetual Emotion" alone justifies the purchase of this Maxi-CD.
