With the CD "Stockholm Stereo Out" the Swedish reggae/dub band Dubwise has just released something what we would call a perfect meeting of reggae, dub and ambient. During a live gig in the Rub-a-Dub club in Stockholm they hooked up a portable DAT recorder to the mixer. Afterwards they realised that they had come up with something special and after the final editing they decide to release the recording as a live album.
Drenched into deep synthesizer sounds and driven by a booming bass you'll hear original interpretations of reggae classics such as Burning Spear's Civilize Reggae, Dennis Brown's majestic root tune Promise Land and Bob Marley's Crazy Baldhead. A great compliment goes out to the dub engineer Internal Dread who sent out the half sung phrases of Desmond Foster into space through secret hook-ups between the confidential effect units. In between synthesizer player Robert Cronsioe was yelling at the audience through his intercom microphone.
With "Stockholm Stereo Out" the band Dubwise has created the perfect reggae/dub/ambient landscape...why don't you pay a visit ?
