Stamma Haughton is the founder of the Marston Recording Corporation (1984). Born in Oche Rios, Jamaica, Stamma has played with many of reggae superstars during the seventies. He set up the recording studio/production company " Sounds of Montego Bay Ltd." and recorded some fine sides. After that Stamma and his wife moved to Florida, USA, where he became an engineer in the famous Criteria Studios. He has released many albums, his recent called "Truth". He has a deep, brown voice, reminding of Barry White. This self produced album is a mix of lover's tunes and cultural tracks. Stamma is a fine songwriter, who comfortably mixes pop, blues and r&b influences with reggae riddims. Most songs are in the "one drop" stylee, thus giving "Truth" a somewhat dated feel. The album is a fine proof of Stamma Haughton's craftsmanship, who produced, arranged, mixed, recorded and wrote the whole album.
