Currently based in The Netherlands, Twilight Circus ringmaster Ryan Moore grew up in a volcanically active location in Canada and was immersed early on in Dub & Reggae. Moore first learned to play instruments by playing along with classic Jamaican recordings, spending countless hours as a youth playing deep reggae grooves. He has been active in the music world since 1981, appearing as a musician on over 60 albums with various artists in numerous genres. A Dub fanatic of the first degree since teenage days, his first studio experiments took place in the mid 80's and when he moved to The Netherlands in 1991, virtually unlimited access to recording studio equipment allowed his knob twisting tendencies to develop to the point of no return. In the studio multi-instrumentalist Moore plays and mixes all the tracks himself. Twilight Circus Dub Sound System has performed 100's of live dates around the world since 1995. Be on the lookout for the new Twilight Circus DJ set - shows planned throughout 2001 in Europe, Asia, Canada & the USA, incuding major festival appearances at Germany's Summer Jam and the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival in California.
'Volcanic Dub' is the 8th full length set from dub wizzard Ryan Moore. It features 12 boombastic dub plates propelled by seismically active bass & drum rhythms. In my opinion it differs from the previous releases, because the overall mood is more relaxed and based upon the traditional Jamaican dub techniques. Spin tracks like for example Flexi, Rolling Thunder, Seismic and Floorshaker and you will experience the spirit of the late great King Tubby and Lee 'Scratch' Perry. The intense drum and bass sound explores the most intimate regions of your mind, but on the other hand it is also an album for dancing the night away !
An above avarage dub/dance album from the dub wizzard Ryan Moore !
