Carlton Pride & Zion Reggae Music consists of Carlton Pride (guitar/lead vocals), John Moore (drums/background vocals), Ezekiel Benenate (bass), Papa Ska (keyboards) and on percussion Albert Alonso & Ras Drew Harper. The band's hometown is San Marcos, Texas, USA and in 1997 they played at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashaville, sharing stage with Carlton's father, the c&w music legend Charly Pride, for the family special.
Their latest release, which is produced by reggae legend Clive Hunt, gathers 12 uplifting and melodic tunes, combining the flavors of reggae, world beat and dancehall. On track 2 - "Kiss An Angel" - it's a family affair as c&w music legend Charly Pride sings together with his son Carlton. The track is one of our favorite tunes found here. "Strange Vibes" and "Rub A Dub" are two more high lights of the album. Soca influences can be heard on "Everyman Spoil A Style".
Some of reggae biggest names were involved in the making of the album : Errol Brown (mixing), Barry O'Hare (engineer), and additional musicians like Dean Fraser, David Madden, Bongo Herman, Pam Hall and deejay Kulcha Knox.
