Lush Records' second 'dub fe dub' compilation features 12 heavyweight dub selections, most of which are performed by UK based bands. All tracks are previously unreleased tunes and exclusive for this cd. The following companies have made this release possible : Jah Warror Records, Conscious Sound, Twilight Circus, Wordsound Recordings, Perkussion & Elektronik, Third Eye Music, Universal Egg and InI Oneness Meets The UK Players.|
From Germany comes 'The Vison' with a melodic track -Roots Puzzle- across the 'Swing Easy' riddim, followed by UK rootsman Hughie Izachaar who lays down a dubplate from his current album 'Can't Take The Pressure'. Twilight Circus, based in The Netherlands, comes up with an excellent tune entitled Shaka. Both Hydroponics and Naph-Tali bring us two compelling roots dub tracks. Fighting features the voice of Johnny Osbourne, whilst Naph-Tali's dub tune Visionary Dub belongs to one of my favorite tracks on the album. Jah Free, from the Zion Tran camp, brings it further with his version of Rod Of Correction. After a spoken intro, Tena Stelin delivers his dub tune in a true roots style.
After this Bush Chemist brings down the beat a little with their sparse echo filled sound on the track Subliminal Dub. Roots Control from the prolific US label Wordsound straight outa Brooklyn deliver their own distinctive style of contemporary dub in Forward Roots.
A.K.A. Dub - The Second Chapter is an excellent dub compilation featuring some of the most inspirering contemporary dub wizzards.
