The reggae fusion label Ranch Entertainment Inc. is the brainchild of veteran reggae artist Orville Burrell, better known is Shaggy. He has set up the label to accomplish its mission of expanding the horizons of reggae music. At the beginning of 2012 they released the powerful soundbwoy/reggae riddim 'Kingston 13' with outstanding tracks by Gyptian, J. Boog and Tarrus Riley (in combination with Shaggy).
Now the company puts out a r'n'b flavoured dance riddim called 'Calabash', a riddim that will do just fine during this summer. Every tune has enough crossover potential, with Gyptian's Whyne being the most commercial tune of the batch. With Love Mi Jamaica the combination Red Fox, Andre "GC" Fennell & Shaggy pay tribute to the small island they love so much! Shaggy returns with another boom tune called Make Up, a combination with sweet voiced Wayne Wonder. Tennille Amor (born Tennille De Freitas), who originally hails from Trinidad, now lives in New York but has lived all over the world including Egypt, Singapore, England and Scotland. She makes a fresh impression with her tune Not The One. Rayvon, the Barbadian reggae singer known for his work with Shaggy, is also worthwhile checking here with One More Shot. Konshens with Couple Up and the quartet RSNY with Love We Long Time, reminding us of TOK, deliver fine licks of the riddim.
With no bad tune around, 'Calabash' is a summer fresh and highly danceable riddim!
