"Dancehall Bashment Mix Vol. 2" is the next megamix album in this Jamdown series, which again features mixmaster Jazzy T of the renown Renaissance Sound System on the wheels. The album contains 23 tracks of the finest dancehall riddims, artists, and production companies in Jamaica.|
After the intro the heat is on with two cuts for "The Arrow" riddim, produced by Cardiff Butt aka Degree. First up is Beenie Man's decent "Watch It" followed by Elephant Manís matching "Model Pon Dem". Next is the "Full Moon", a stripped down riddim driven by a dominating hardcore beat. Featured are two wicked pieces from Spragga Benz and Lexxus, while Mr. Vegas is not far behind. Dancehallís favorite son Sean Paul delivers a solid effort across the "Water From My Eyes" riddim. More nice versions for the riddim from Buccaneer and Harry Toddler. The latter also contributes a tune over the "Asthma" riddim as does Sizzla, whose "That Dem Love" sees him in fine form. Next drops the "Ole Mon" riddim with two nice cuts from Mr. Vegas and Lexxus. Ghost, Jigsy King and Danny English have voiced KT Productions' "Badness" riddim with Danny English bringing the most enjoyable effort. Two awesome cuts for the "Black Ice" riddim are delivered by Delly Ranks and the "Poor People's Governor" Bounty Killer. Singer Flava takes over the proceedings with a nice lovers tune, before Goofy comes in with his version for the riddim. However, it's Lexxus who delivers the best piece. Rounding out the selection to this megamix is the "Shag-A-Delic" riddim from producer Colin Johnson for his own Shy Shy Productions with Spragga Benzís hit tunePokyman and Harry Toddler's "We Run Di World".
