The "Dreamweaver" is the latest riddim from one of dancehall’s hottest producers. Steven ‘Lenky’ Marsden is the first reggae producer to ever score a number one ‘pop hit’ and have two songs on the same riddim in the top twenty on Billboard magazine’s Hot 100 chart at the same time. These blockbuster hits were "Get Busy" by Sean Paul and "No Letting Go" by Wayne Wonder on the "Diwali" -riddim. And now Lenky is back with a new riddim called 'Dream Weaver', a hard hitting, hip-hop inspired beat with illmatic synth sounds and ultra subs on the bass accents. But for some reason it hasn't caught on as much in the dancehalls as one would have expected. Is it too futuristic, is the riddim too much embellished with all the different kinds of synth and percussion accents? I don't know, because I actually do like this riddim a lot. And it features some great tracks, Beenie Man's "Great Species", Vybz Kartel's lyrically great ganja tune "Visa", and one of my favorites, always strong delivering Chico with "Thick & Thin". The absolute killer on this riddim is by one of the still most underrated DJs Degree. I hope more people give this riddim a second spin, and will appreciate that Lenky lives up to VP's statement 'Miles Ahead In Reggae Music'.Souljah.
