Delly Ranx continues his streak of successful hardcore dancehall ruling dancehall riddims for his Di Ranx Productions stable (built together with Freddy McGregor's only 16(!) years old son Stephen 'The Genius' McGregor), following Greensleeves Rhythm Album #81 "Red Bull & Guiness" and the '12 Gauge'-riddim in very much the same vein with the 86th volume in Greensleeves' ongoing Rhythm Album series with another tribute to a drink "Ghetto Whiskey". 27(!) tracks on this riddim and a free bonus mix-CD by DJ Liquid and still it's no punishment to just spin all the tunes in one session, with Stephen McGregor's brother Chino joining DJ turned producer Delly Ranx on title song "Ghetto Whiskey" followed by the masterpiece Mavado & Vybz Kartel combination "Sunrise". Late dancer Bogle's right hand Boysie teams up with Not Nice for a reprise of Sultex 3000's "Killa Walk, Prezzi Bounce" in dancing tune "Bung Bong", newcomer Craig Dennis more than convinces with buss mi guns "All Day" sharing the spotlight with the 'a wa do dem' vocal backing and T.O.K. contribute the perfect dancefloor tune "Freeze". Delly Ranx solo tune "Gangsta 4 Life" is worth mentioning as well, though not exceptional, but Vybz Kartel's solo tune "Bruck It" is an excellent example of why he is asked to voice almost every dancehall riddim released and often do contribute more than one tune to the selection. Chino delivers the fine solo tune "Formula", followed by Elephant Man's strong "We Don't Take Bad Up" and the smooth "How Will I Know" by Singing Sweet, indeed a cover of the Whitney Houston tune. Soltex 3000 does what he does best, giving dance instructions - even when it's lapdance this time - in "Wine Pon This", before Sizzla's almost over the top "Mek It Beat" and former Scare Dem and Monster Shack Crew members Nitty Kutchie & Roundhead team up for their ganja tune "High Grade Everyday". Wayne Wonder represents the singers very well on this selection with "Mistake", the ever reliable Anthony B is vocodered at times in the fine "Rise The Machine", Wayne Marshall also brings with him his usual fine delivery for "Who We Are" and newcomers Tyrical with "Bere Sitten Sitten", female singer Shema with "Convince Me" and Bramma with "Bad Mind" all three deliver top tunes, as does Mr. Easy with "Someone" and former 'Prince Of NW10' Chukki Star continues his 'come back' with "For The Girl Dem". Household names in dancehall reggae these days Norrisman with "Protect Your Soul", Turbulence with "I Will", Aidonia with the very impressive "War Monger" and veteran Mega Banton with "I'm Dangerous" all deliver satifying tunes and so does newcomer Kari Jess with "Longtime" before the clean version of the "Ghetto Whiskey Rhythm" shows the musical genius (pun intended) of Stephen 'The Genius' McGregor and his patron Delly 'Di Ranx'. If you still can't get enough of this riddim, you can start spinning the 44 minutes free bonus mix CD with even more cuts of which some are not even featured on the regular CD. Another excellent Delly Ranx & Stephen 'The Genius' McGregor produced riddim with many top tunes on it.
