Since they entered the reggae scene a few years ago, Itation Records has brought us strong modern roots riddims such as "Higher Meditation", the 2008 'Roots Reggae Riddim Of The Year' "World Go Round", "Clearly" and the excellent "Show Love". Besides riddim albums, Itation Records has also produced worthwhile albums from Delly Ranx ("Good Profile") and VI Roots artist Batch ("Vizionary"). Now this US based label comes up with another great riddim called "Ifficial". The latter, built by the Tune In Crew from France, has been voiced by ten artists including well known names like Anthony B, Delly Ranx and Pressure Busspipe as well as interesting upcoming artists such as Monsoon, Kali Blaxx, Teflon and Bescenta.

Denton Bedward aka Monsoon (former founder and lead singer/deejay of the award-winning Washington, DC-based S.T.O.R.M. Reggae Band), whom we mainly know from recent singles like "Keep On Loving You", "Backyard" and the excellent "As-Salaam Alaikum (Mama Africa)", delivers the opening tune of this 'one riddim' set on which his vocal delivery is strongly reminiscent of Capleton. The "Ifficial" album contains a few truly great efforts and Monsoon's wicked "Jah" is one of them. The same goes for Anthony B's anti-violence tune "Outta Road", which can be reckoned amongst the Original Fireman's best recordings from recent years. "Rasta Nah Bow" by Delly Ranx -- already known from his 2009 released "Good Profile" album -- is an above par piece, while also Pressure Busspipe's "Watch Over My Soul" can be regarded as one of the undisputed highlights of this set. Real big tune with lyrics to match! The only song that deals with matters of the heart comes from Bescenta, who earlier this year released his debut album "Genuine". The singer's "Your Love" is an entertaining solid effort worth hearing. Last but not least it's newcomer Fiyah Binghi who should get kudos for "All My Life", which happens to be a very strong repatriation song.

Itation Records and the Tune In Crew have produced a beautiful "one drop" riddim with a bubbly bass groove, which surely has inspired most of the artists involved to fully explore their skills and talent in order to create a great vocal cut.
