Any avid reggae fan should pay attention to Tad's Records (a record production and publishing company that has been in the music business for over thirty years), which has been releasing more compilations and artists albums than you can shake a stick at. In recent times they have released worthwhile compilations like "Essential Reggae Kings Vols. 1 & 2", and now there's the sublimely compiled "Jah Message Reggae" set, which features class artists with class tunes.

Tarrus Riley leads the way with "Never Leave I" on Chimney Records' "Island Vibes" riddim, a big tune that takes us back to the year 2011.
Inna mi going out and coming in
Never leave I Jah Jah
Keep me far from vampires
Inna mi going out and coming in
Keep me by your right hand
and keep me far from satan
Big things are going on for conscious reggae singer Iba Mahr, who is currently making waves with his sophomore album "Diamond Sox". Here he's present with the superb "Great Is H.I.M.", one of the tunes that not only got critical acclaim but also put him on the reggae map. "Great Is H.I.M." is delivered over Overstand Entertainment's huge "Rootsman" riddim (actually a relick of Ini Kamoze's "Wings With Me") and was also the title track of his 2014 released debut cd. Jah Cure shines bright on "World Is In Trouble", a great cut across the mighty "Diamonds & Gold" riddim which was released in 2013 on DJ Frass Records.

Next comes the once mighty Warrior King with the solid "Jah Is The Only One", which is followed by I-Octane's matching "Thank You Father" on Cashflow's "Give Thanks" riddim. Although it's a somewhat odd choice to include a live recording, "Burnin' & Lootin' / Mr. Heartless by Anthony B gives a good impression of the original fireman's always impressive live performances. Hezron's powerful "We Shall Find A Way" is a winner, while Vybz Kartel shows that he' also capable of delivering a noteworthy modern roots tune. The 2011 released single "In My Life" shows the significant talent of Jah Vinci, an artist whom we re-discovered when his outstanding song "King's Highway" recently appeared on Greensleeves' "The Biggest Reggae One Drop Anthems 2015".

Despite not being a real up-to-date compilation, it's nonetheless enjoyable and entertaining.
