In recent years the Le Mans, France based Irie Ites record label has treated the European reggae massive to quite a few worthwhile 'one-riddim' cd's including "Borderline", "Zion", "Rocking Time", "Down In Jamaica" and "Strange Things". They follow up these releases with another great one-riddim set called "Only Solution", once again built by the famous drum & bass UK duo Mafia & Fluxy and expertly mixed by Calvin "So So" Francis. Four double-sided 7" singles were released in 2008 and now these seven vocal cuts plus the dub version -- with five exclusive tunes from Ras McBean, Malijah, Jennifer Barrett and French artists Brahim and Keefaz added -- finally appear on this very enjoyable cd.

Well known names and regular artists on Irie Ites productions such as Chezidek, Jah Mason, lutan Fyah, Lorenzo, Perfect and Ras McBean are joined by up-and-coming talents like Malijah, Jennifer Barrett and Hungarian Ghanaian songstress Sena. The title track for the riddim (an adaptation of Bob Marley's "Forever Loving Jah"), the huge "Only Solution", comes from St Ann, Jamaica born vocalist Lorenzo and is known from his debut album "Movin' Ahead". The album opener "Warmonger" is a matching piece delivered by that other St Ann singer Chezidek, who continuously puts out great efforts in recent times. His friend from the same parish, Perfect, comes up with the nice "Irie Ites", before Jah Mason convinces with the strong "In My Heart". Ras Mac Bean's awesome "Boot Tracks" was already featured on the singer's 2004 album "Pack Up And Leave", but here it has a different mix. Lutan Fyah, one of our favourite contemporary conscious artists, has proven to be very consistent when it comes to the quality of his output and here he delivers another solid effort called "The Blessings". Check out artists on the rise of which Sena and Malijah make a good impression with the militant "Rebel Woman" and "Me No Ina Weh Dem Ina" respectively. Then French artists Brahim and Keefaz deliver decent contributions, although their message is hard to understand when you're not familiar with the French language.

Any lover of conscious music and solid relicks of vintage riddims should grab up this 'one-riddim' set.
