Dancehall fans might remember Main Street's ace engineer Richard "Shams" Browne - nephew from vet producer Danny Browne - as the rookie producer who made a serious impact on the dancehall scene right from the start. In 1998 he released his first singles - utilizing the "Gypsy" riddim, which soon proved very popular - on his own "Hi-Profile" label (later on he also founded the "Call Me Shams" label). His second riddim, "Baddis", was a nice one too, but it was not until the release of the Grass Cyaat" riddim that "Shams" definitely secured himself a position in the forefront of Dancehall music. On the compilation set "Real Sex 2000" Richard 'Shams' Browne, loads up the pieces to two of his presently successful riddims : "Intercourse" and "Orgasm".|
The first 6 tracks incorporate the infectious and very danceable "Intercourse" riddim featuring namebrand dancehall artists like Beenie Man, Spragga Benz and the hotter than hot combination Mr. Vegas & Sean Paul alongside promising new comers Gabriel and Frankie Sly. Best efforts are the awesome combination tune "Tiger Bone", Spragga Benz's "Elum", "Badman Anthem" by T.O.K., and Beenie Man's wicked "Damn!!".
Then, eight cuts over the "Orgasm", actually a riddim with a different kind of flavor. It's a more stripped down haunting riddim with a hardcore pressure. Elephant Man's "Hurt Dem", Lexxus' excellent "Full Hundred", Mr. Vegas' "Girls Time" and "Circumstances" from the brand new combination Ras Moses (aka Beenie Man) & Ricky Rudy can be counted among the most noteworthy and entertaining efforts over the riddim.
Also included is a - by now seemingly in fashion - bonus CD containing an over seventy minutes lasting "Hot Mega Mix". With thirty pieces this truly entertaining mix also includes cuts that were previously only available on 7" singles.
