Producer H.P. Setter - already more than ten years involved in the German reggae scene - has been working on a project which has resulted in the release of this "Version Excursion" album, the first to be recorded, produced and released in Germany. "Riddim In Exile" features four solid dancehall riddims and, of course, a lot of artists from Germany and Jamaica with every single artist delivering his very own version. What makes this CD truly unique is the fact that H.P. Setter's approach was built on the main intention to melt the Jamaican and German influences to a new amalgamation in order to create an authentic style instead of simply duplicating the Island's music. That's why this CD collects tunes sung in English/Patois as well as songs in German and even one in Spanish. The final result is a nice, refreshing effort and - if you speak your languages so that you can understand all the lyrics - sometimes a humurous as well.
