Second instalment in VP Records' new dancehall series entitled "Riddim Driven" features the "Full Moon" and "Speed" riddims from new comers "First Name Productions" and Desmond & Rupert Blake's "Q-45 Productions", the musical crew which already established its name with hit riddims like "Bruk Bottle" and "Dirty Money". The "Full Moon" and "Speed" are stripped down ragga/dancehall riddims, both driven by a dominating hardcore beat. The roll call of artists contains no real surprises as it features usual suspects like the seemingly ever present Capleton, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Lexxus and Sean Paul. Furthermore one finds the names of up-and-coming talents like Ricky Rudie aka Bling Dawg, Danny English, Assasin, and young singer Christopher who delivers a fine adaption of Donnell Jones' R&B tune "Shorty". Seven cuts for each riddim on this nice compilation set. Best rides on the "Full Moon" riddim are done by Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer and upstart deejay Elephant Man, while the "Speed" riddim features noteworthy pieces from Capleton, Madd Anju, Lexxus and the wicked combination Elephant Man and Danny English.
