Producer Louis "Flabba" Malcolm - in association with riddim builder Ricky "Mad Man" Myrie - has a talent of putting out quality dancehall music on his "Mo Music" imprint. In the past few years he scored big with tunes across riddims like for example "Headache", "Hurricane" and "Unstoppable". "The Flip" is "Mo Music Productions" team latest effort in the arena of dancehall. When the first six versions for the riddim appeared on 7" singles they set the decks alight for a serious juggling extravaganza and then instantly proved popular. "The Flip" riddim incorporates a seriously infectious R&B groove and a heavy booming bass sound, simply the kind of ingredients a backdrop needs to shake just about any dance floor. Twelve cuts for this wicked riddim are featured on this "Riddim Driven" album and, unlike most version albums, every single track is at least a solid and very enjoyable effort and thus well worth spinning more than once. Among the standouts on "The Flip"'s stellar lineup are Ward 21's awesome cut "Style", the Tanto Metro & Devonte duo track entitled "That Thing", Elephant Man's "The Game Change" and Sean Paul's excellent "Concrete", which fully shows this artist's unique flow when he rides a riddim. Also lesser known artists should not be overlooked as Christopher's "It's On", the Taffari & Ava Monet duo track entitled "Round & Round" and "Party Hardy" by former Born Jamericans member Notch are truly entertaining efforts.
"The Flip" is a big and bad danceable riddim, a treat for all reggae and dancehall fans who want to "party hardy"!!
