"Total Ragga Volume 3" is well varied collection of deejay and singer tunes, produced by an array of top producers like Bobby 'Digital' Dixon, Collin Fat, Shocking Vibes' Patrick Roberts, Donovan Germain, Colin Levy and "Bulby" York & "Fatta" Marshall.
Beenie Man delivers two fine efforts, first the Stone Love produced "One Baga Man" and then "No Time", the latter being a version across the Shocking Vibes produced "Champagne" riddim. Top ranking female deejay Lady Saw comes up with "Ride", a Colin Fat produced and sensual performed a suggestive song across the "Di Blade" riddim. Sizzla unconditionally fires his lyrics utilizing "Bulby" York & "Fatta" Marshall's hard hitting "Matrix" riddim before Scare Dem member Harry Toddler takes over the proceedings with a mediocre tune. Capleton delivers a peerless performance on the outstanding "Happy Go So Lucky", thus unmistakably showcasing his supremacy over the past year or so. The revitalized 'M16' riddim is featured twice here. The first lick comes from Singing Melody, who uses R. Kelly's "When A Woman's Fed Up" for his outing and the second lick, "Little Shatta", is performed by child star Serial Kid. Both tracks are produced by Paul Henton for his Booth Camp imprint. Upcoming superstar Jahmali puts down a splendid tune for producer Donovan Germain, entitled "Substance Abuse". Then another R&B cover, the Jennifer Lopez smash hit "If U Have My Love", which is performed by female vocalist Cecile. Ace producer Bobby 'Digital' Dixon is featured here with two excellent productions. First there's Morgan Heritage with "Praise Him" and next comes one of Jamaica's most gifted (yet unknown) vocalists, A.J. Brown, with "We Need To Learn", performed across a mid eighties digital King Jammy's riddim track. Furthermore this compilation set features a fine and enjoyable tune from Jamaica's premier harmony group A.R.P., who are singing to a "Sweet Lady".
"Total Ragga Volume 3" is a very nice album with nuff entertainment for every taste !
