"Wappy Back" is a one riddim album produced by Barry Clarke for BCR International. The "Wappy Back" riddim is laid down by musicians Paul Kastick, Dalton Brownie & Benjy Myaz, with additional backing vocals from Freddie McGregor, Don Campbell, Peter Hunnigale and Paul Murray. It's a fast paced, pop styled riddim, and the album offers a well varied mix of singers and deejays, featuring the hit singles "Put It Een" by Yasus Afari and "Youth" by the combination Stephen McGregor and Nahswitch.
The album opens with a tune by Marcia Griffiths, who proves with her outing that she's still capable of keeping up with the latest trends in reggae music. Next is Hotta Flex who does a version of Lauren Hill's 'Cruisin'. Also featered here are three vocalists out of the UK, Don Campbell, Richie Brown and Peter Hunningale. All three put out good lovers performances. Reggae veteran Freddie McGregor showcases his established skills with "Grovin' Ahead".
More boomshot cuts come from the combination Kipprich & Capuccino -"Gi Me De Gal", and Don Yute with "Tug Style".
